How Cross-Chain Bridging Works (and What DLN Order Fixing Means)

A bridge does not move the same token across chains; it locks or burns a token on one chain and releases an equivalent on another. How that equivalence is guaranteed is what separates a well-designed bridge from a risky one.

No token is wrapped

A deBridge DLN order settles directly in the destination token rather than issuing a wrapped placeholder asset you would need to unwrap or trust later.

Fixed at order creation

The amount you are shown for a DLN order is fixed when the order is created, not estimated at the time it fills, so market movement during settlement does not change what arrives.

Match the chain to the address

Confirm the destination chain in the bridge interface matches where you intend to receive funds; an address is often valid on multiple chains but the asset only arrives on the one selected.
