An app on a phone opened on three bands of chrome in almost the same grey: the system row, the app's own header, and whatever the app put under it, stacked before a line of content. The header stops tinting where the system row already supplies one, and a segmented control now sits in a well rather than in a third band. The bottom bar was the other half of it, a flat six per cent wash that over a dark canvas is a black block with the list ending behind an edge nobody can see. It is glass, and it floats.

The list runs under the bar
The bar used to be a row of the frame, so the frame's own background painted a solid band around it. It is laid over the body now, and the body is given the height back as padding, so the last row of a list still clears the glass while everything above it passes behind.

A pane, not a tinted panel
The face blurs at 10px, which is light enough to read what is scrolling behind it. The outer 8px blurs at 24px, because a pane is thickest where it turns and that is where it bends the most. An edge that refracts is what separates glass from a rectangle with a hairline drawn on it.

The active tab stopped shouting
It was a filled tile, which made the heaviest shape in the bar the one thing that moved. A 2.5px rule now travels along the top of the tab you are on, and it is the only place the accent runs at full strength. Active still carries the rule, the colour and the weight, so it never rests on colour alone.

- Both shared navigations changed together: the segmented pair for two or three destinations, and the rail and bar that nearly every app actually renders. They are the same navigation at two widths and had been drifting apart.
- A tab's icon box was 56px wide, four times the glyph in it, so a count or an alert dot sat most of an inch from the icon it belonged to and read as a mark on the tab. It is 22px now, and the marks are back on the icon.

- The active tab lifted and grew by a tenth on every switch, which at 19px reads as a bounce rather than as a state. It settles at four per cent.
