1.8.2
A phone browser had three ways to reach a wallet: hand off to the Phantom app, or sign in with Google or Apple. Android gets a fourth, Mobile Wallet Adapter, which connects Solflare, Backpack and any other Android wallet app that speaks the protocol. A sign-in that failed on the way back from Google or Apple used to leave the user on the desktop with no wallet and nothing said; the callback screen now names the failure. Three of the screens that ask a wallet to sign answered with the text of a JavaScript error when the wallet held no address for that chain, and they name the chain instead.

Mobile Wallet Adapter on Android
Every route to a wallet from a phone browser ended at the Phantom app or at a Google or Apple login, so someone holding Solflare or Backpack had none. Android now lists Mobile Wallet Adapter as a fourth option in the connect sheet, authorizing Solana mainnet. It appears only where the protocol runs: iPhone and desktop are unchanged.

A failed sign-in says so
Returning from Google or Apple, a sign-in that did not complete sent the user straight to the desktop with no wallet attached and no message. That looked exactly like a sign-in that worked and then dropped. The callback screen now stays put, gives the reason the wallet reported, and offers a way back.

Wallet errors name the chain
Uniswap, the ETH Hub approvals list and the bridge each asked a wallet to sign without first checking it held an address for that chain. A Solana-only wallet on an Ethereum screen produced the words sendTransaction is not a function. All three now name the chain the wallet is missing, and stop before the prompt.
Everything in this release
New1
- Mobile Wallet Adapter is a connect option on Android, reaching Solflare, Backpack and other wallet apps that speak the protocol. It authorizes Solana mainnet, and is absent on iPhone and desktop, where the protocol does not run.
Improved1
- A sign-in that fails on the way back from Google or Apple now names the failure on the callback screen and offers a way back, rather than returning to the desktop with no wallet and no message.
Fixed1
- Uniswap, the ETH Hub approvals list and the bridge no longer answer with the text sendTransaction is not a function when the connected wallet has no address for that chain. Each names the missing chain before it asks for a signature.
