1.5.6
1.5.5 made the shell start faster. This release makes the start visible. Between pressing Enter and the desktop appearing, a window manager, a dock, a set of widgets and a wallet session all have to come up, and until now that interval was an unmarked black screen, indistinguishable on a slow connection from nothing happening at all. Hexncoin now boots the way a system boots: a screen of its own that stays until the session is genuinely ready to be used.

Highlights
- 01
A boot screen for the way in
The mark over a dark field, lit from behind, with the wordmark resolving a letter at a time and a single hairline rail tracking progress. It covers both ways into the system, arriving from the login screen and reloading straight back into a session, so the first thing a session shows is never a blank frame.
- 02
Held by readiness, not by a timer
The screen clears when the system has actually finished coming up. A short floor keeps it from flashing past on a warm start, and a ceiling releases it regardless, so something that never arrives delays the desktop rather than sealing it off.
Everything in this release
New1
- A boot screen shown while the desktop comes up, on both routes in: entering from the login screen, and reloading into an existing session.
Improved2
- Returning visitors no longer land on an empty black frame. Reloading into a session now shows the system starting rather than nothing at all.
- The boot screen respects the system's reduced-motion setting, switching off the grid, the glow, the scan pass and the letter reveal, and announces its state to assistive technology while it is up.
